We have an exciting fixed-term opportunity for a Principal Advisor experienced in Māori public policy to work in the Policy Partnerships Puni

**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity**

Te Puni Kōkiri is the Government's principal advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. The Policy Partnerships Puni provides advice to the Government and government agencies on strategic policy issues and evidence-based approaches to improve Māori wellbeing and further Māori development.

The Puni's core value propositions include:

- leading across the public sector to understand and prioritise Māori issues, needs and opportunities impacting on wellbeing and development
- providing credible, evidence-based advice that is anchored in the cultural context of Māori
- linking the voice of Māori whānau into policy proposals and solution design.

We are looking for a Principal Advisor to lead work focused on delivering the Government's priorities for Māori Economic Development. This includes working on enabling outcomes for Māori in education, employment and enterprise.

**Ko wai koe | About you**

We are seeking someone with a high level of experience with policy development and government processes. You will have the ability to build, maintain and enhance strategic relationships within Te Puni Kōkiri, and externally with other agencies and entities. You will have a proven ability to lead complex cross-government policy development and implementation programmes and to lead relevant people working on the programmes.
