Our client is a New Zealand leader that manufactures and supplies a wide range of food, beverage, and pharmaceutical products, to support the food manufacturing and food service industries of New Zealand.

They create healthier, tastier and more sustainable products, that are consumed by people across the world. It would be highly likely that whatever you cook for your dinner tonight, would have some of their ingredients, seasonings, mixes coatings, sauces, rubs, glazes, stocks, flavouring, as part of your meal.

**The Opportunity**:
On their behalf, we are seeking the services of a Warehousing and Distribution Manager to join their Otahuhu based distribution centre. Leading a team of 8, they will drive _best practise and continuous improvements across the site._

They will take the lead for building strategy and capability across the warehousing and distribution functions, identifying and leading change initiatives, that will optimise the smooth running of this complex operation_._

**Key Responsibilities**
- Driving excellence in distribution and logistics fulfilment.
- Oversee, manage & train a team of warehouse and transportation personnel, increasing their skill level and capability
- Responsible for the wellbeing of the team and driving a positive culture and accountability.
- Manage stocktaking process for raw materials & finished goods, including cycle counting.
- Oversee and control of all aspects related to the receiving of Goods including, but not limited to:

- Receiving reports & management of timeslots.
- Receiving & inspection of inwards goods.
- Receiving and allocating of all items into the storage locations of the Warehouse (production and raw materials).
- Supervise the finished goods distribution planning process.
- Participate in S & OP meetings as required.
- Implement Supply Chain strategies and policies as required.
- Manage risk and safety compliance including MPI and DG certifications.
- GMP Management, and Waste management.
- Reporting - Pest Control, Put-away and Pick reporting.
- Review warehouse schedule (balancing of incoming and outgoing).
- Review and follow up implementation of SOPs in the warehouse.
- Manage the relationships and performance of 3PL suppliers, Freight Providers and Logistics Partners
- Review slow moving inventory with Supply Chain team.
- Manage the temp labour hire requirements during season busy periods
- Communication of any supply chain and logistics risks impacting DIFOT
- Drive a culture of health and safety and risk management.
- Manage the financials across labour and warehouse expenditure, implementing cost efficiencies

We are looking for someone who is a good planner, organised, process driven and who optimize the warehousing distribution function across all functions including transport, personnel, resources, storage, inventory and all other logistics activities which directly impacts fulfilment, delivery and ultimately the customer experience

**Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:

- 6-8+ years people leadership experience in a warehousing / distribution environment.
- It is essential to have had previous experience in a Food Manufacturing/ Raw ingredients environment and understand the critical impacts of DIFOT, when working with goods that maybe perishable.
- Focused on continuous improvement, developing and leading change and improvement initiatives
- Previous experience in an environment where inventory movement is complex, critically timed, often with changing priorities
- A visible leader with a hands-on leadership style.
- A planner, a problem solver. Is across all daily processes/ performance.
- Is ahead of any issues that impact DIFOT. Works to negate these, implementing preventative measures
- Strong HSE focus, HACCP, Hazardous substances & dangerous goods control.
- Strong inventory management, across storage processes, and the balance of incoming/ outgoing goods.
- Sees the big picture. Can analyse / implement processes to achieve goals.
- Strong interdepartmental communication
- SAP experience
- Experience in creating operational efficiencies, site optimisation and asset utilisation.
- Identify and implement cost efficiencies
- Ability to build and maintain solid relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers
