HR Cement Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a student to join its “Career Kick-starter” programme. The role involves tackling a critical challenge in the adoption of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) in concrete during colder months. GGBFS, a low-carbon alternative to cement, increases set times and reduces early strength under cold conditions, limiting its use and carbon reduction potential.
- Develop innovative, cost-effective solutions to enable widespread use of GGBFS in cold conditions.
- Conduct laboratory and field testing of cement, GGBFS, and concrete to validate solutions.
- Collaborate with industry experts, testing labs, and consultants to ensure solutions are practical, economic, and compliant with NZ standards.
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for industry stakeholders.
