Vineyard Operator

Vineyard:

- Following a spray plan, and ordering sprays as required.
- Supervising and training seasonal staff during the growing season while working with them through all vineyard operations. e.g. shoot thinning, bud rubbing, wire lifting, etc.
- Pruning.
- Hiring staff as required during the season.
- Keeping up with year-round vineyard maintenance, including wire maintenance and installing new posts.
- Keeping accurate spray diaries and keeping up to date with SWNZ accreditations.
- Input with vineyard operations/planning, including annual vineyard plan, updating spray plan, and pest and disease -control.
- Harvest.
- Installing and Maintaining bird netting.
- Olive Harvest.
- Help on-site garden staff when required.
- Cellar door work.
- Facility maintenance.

Winey
- Be present for finning and blending sessions
- Winery maintenance as required
- Participate during harvest in the winery
- Fill in for the winemaker when required

Job Requirements
- Confident Machine Operator with appropriate certifications e.g. tractor and forklift.
- Ideally, have a tertiary qualification in Enology or Viticulture, but not essential
- Vineyard experience, including harvest and pruning.
- Strong organizational, team-building, problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Available to work a varied schedule during the harvest season.
- Full driver's license.
- Winery experience
- Grow Safe Certification (not essential)
