This is a hands on role so you won’t be completely off the tools. On top of planning, organising and prioritising what repair and maintenance tasks need completing, you’ll also be able to diagnose faults, carry out repairs and jump in and help as needed. As a natural leader, you’ll also drive and motivate a high performing and engaged team.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- At least 5 years experience working as a heavy diesel mechanic
- Experience as a workshop foreperson is sought after
- Proven experience working on heavy trucks and plant, ideally within the civil construction industry
- Ideally you will have a NZ Class 2-5 licence with WTR or willingness to obtain this
- Passionate about leading a team and developing others
- Strong focus on health and safety not only for yourself, your colleagues but also the public
- Willingness to be on call, if required

This is a full time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Competitive hourly rate on offer between $40-$50 an hour.
