Mō te tūnga | About the role

Applications are invited from experienced people with excellent office skills to the position of Workplace Administrator at Taranaki and Whanganui Youth Justice. As an employee of Youth Justice, Oranga Tamariki, you will support our Youth Justice Manager, Supervisor, Social Workers and Youth Justice Co-Ordinators in their provision of Youth Justice services.

You will be responsible for all the administration needs of your Youth Justice colleagues, directly support the Leadership team, a total team of 18 staff from Taranaki and Whanganui.
- Liaise with Oranga Tamariki sites, Iwi/Māōri and community partners, and other stakeholders ie Youth Court, Police
- Coordinate, process and maintain all administration functions, word processing, stationery and printing, receipting referrals and inputting Intakes, dealing with enquiries, filing, ordering, reception services and record keeping in accordance with the Ministry's policies and practices
- Operate and ensure on-going maintenance and upkeep of all communication equipment and systems, including photocopies, TRIM, mail, filing and contact lists.
- Deal with critical scenarios in a calm, professional manner

**Key requirements of the role include**:

- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture Demonstrated work experience in administration
- Confidence and experience using Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Word and technical capacity to quickly learn Oranga Tamariki's digital information and management systems such as CYRAS and TRIM
- Excellent attention to detail with effective organisation and prioritisation skills
- A bright personality, initiative, a good level of resilience to work in this unique environment, and a confidential and proactive approach
- Great relationship skills with the ability to work as part of a team and add support as and where needed
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
- A positive outlook and supporting nature
- Basic accounting and numeracy skills
