Waikato District Waikato, New Zealand Thames-Coromandel District Council Full time

**Channel Specialist - an exciting new digital and channel leadership role**

**Fixed Term 12 months**

Waikato District Council has an ambitious plan to deliver on its vision of creating Liveable, Thriving and Connected Communities. The Waikato district is growing and our organisation has to grow too. We're looking for people who embody our Do It Right values and aren't afraid of getting stuck in.

**About this role**:
Our Communication Team has recently reevaluated its approach to engaging with our citizens, customers, and employees and is now dedicated to delivering on our Trust and Confidence strategy. In pursuit of this goal, we are thrilled to announce new opportunities for skilled communications professionals.

One of the key roles in our new team is the Channel Specialist.

The Channel Specialist will develop a Waikato District Council Channel Approach and be responsible for designing and overseeing all the requirements needed to successfully implement information, customer and communication channels.

This role will report to the Community Relations Specialist (a role that supports a proactive approach to media and story-telling) and work across the organisation to provide leadership, supervision and capability building across all our channels.

**What I do?**
- In partnership with the rest of the Communication team, develop and implement the WDC Channel Approach to support communication and engagement outcomes across all channels.
- Provide advice to maximise use of channels for communication and customer responsiveness.
- Manage quality and master data of our intranet, website, and social media communication channels.

**Why join our team**

Our head office is based in north Waikato's, Ngaaruawaahia, 15 minutes from Hamilton or an hour or so from Auckland against the traffic. You've got the benefits of an easy commute, free parking, work-life balance, flexible working, Waikato River walks and the chance to hit the Hakarimatas on your lunch break.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we value diversity. We welcome applicants who are keen on rolling up their sleeves and helping to bring this to life. We ensure all parts of our recruitment and employment processes are carried out without discrimination.

**Application Closing Date: Sunday, 13th October at 11:55pm.**
