**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The midwife specialist role is a great opportunity for you to shine and help make a difference for our whānau and pepi.

Te Toka Tumai is one of the largest maternity hospitals in Australasia, with approximately 6,500 babies born each year. We are a tertiary referral centre and the national referral centre for babies needing specialist surgery or medical interventions. We also provide primary maternity care to women in the Auckland area.

**About the Role**

As Midwife Specialist you will be:

- Supporting and guiding our midwifery and nursing staff across our high-risk inpatient areas
- Overseeing the management and admission-to-discharge planning specific for these whānau
- This role will cover a 24/7 service

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

We are looking for midwives with a passion and experience in:

- High-risk maternity care
- Care of the late preterm infant and care planning for these whānau.
