A new vacancy is available for a well-experienced Nurse Practitioner at our client’s medical centre in the North Island 37.3 km north of Palmerston. This is a salaried nursing position with full-time engagement. The ideal Nurse Practitioner will join a teaching practice in the North Island and be assisted by registered nurses, nurse practitioners, registrars (general practitioners undergoing training), locums (both short-term and long-term), medical students, and student nurses. You will be required to provide the best patient care and note patients’ symptoms and concerns throughout the examination to diagnose their medical problems and assist to provide the right treatment plan to meet the patient’s needs.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Completed a Nursing Council accredited master’s degree program (or equivalent)
- Must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand in the registered nurse scope of practice
- Must pass an assessment against the Nurse Practitioner competencies given by a Council-approved assessor.
- Must possess strong communication skills and great leadership skills

**The Medical Centre**

A primary medical centre located in the North Island state 37.3 km from the north of Palmerston the medical centre delivers a variety of services which include GP care, hospital services, nurse-led clinics and community nursing. The medical team operates within a multidisciplinary, integrated, and compassionate healthcare approach. GPs, nurse practitioners, specialized nurses, practice/rural hospital nurses, allied health employees, and management are just a few of the many different types of health professions present at this practice. Also, the practice is clinically-led, with significant contributions from all practice areas.
