Our client is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Business Partner to join their team. As a Health and Safety Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in operationalizing strategy by providing objective advice, support, and coaching in health and safety matters. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will develop and enhance capability and confidence through the delivery of high-quality, people-centric health and safety solutions and services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of the strategic and operational priorities to develop and implement innovative approaches for continuous process improvement.
- Tailor support and engagement opportunities to foster development and continuous improvement in health and safety, based on individual leadership capabilities.
- Provide timely coaching and advice to leaders and clients on effective health and safety practices in compliance with legal requirements.
- Implement and maintain a critical risk framework, including the development of standards and critical control verification processes.
- Lead or participate in investigation processes to support learning and improvement.

Change Agent:

- Act as a trusted partner and catalyst for change, facilitating open and constructive conversations with leaders and stakeholders at all levels to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Support leadership risk-taking and courageous conversations, utilizing data to provide context, insight, and alternative options/opinions to business leaders.
- Deliver the critical risk framework across the organization, ensuring compliance and building effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to review, develop, and update frameworks and processes for improved efficiency and customer experience.

Business Culture and Wellbeing:

- Coach and challenge leaders to develop and implement local health and safety plans that reinforce the desired culture and drive team success.
- Establish effective communication channels for health, safety, and wellbeing information that are engaging, accessible, and available.
- Advise and support managers on compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations, in collaboration with specialist functions.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience leading and implementing health and safety practices within a medium to large complex organization.
- Proficient in managing and implementing improvement projects, preferably using formal project methodologies.
- Familiarity with HOP/Learning Team/Safety II principles.
- Strong expertise in developing health, safety, and risk frameworks and integrating sustainable practices with business strategy.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to gain confidence at all levels of the organization.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and upholding cultural values and practices.
- Competency in te reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga is advantageous.
- A degree or graduate diploma in Health and Safety (level 7) or a related discipline is required.
- Relevant professional accreditation, such as HASANZ, is desirable.
