Supervising Tradesperson

Our client, AEC is a leading specialist in providing engineering and fabrication services both nationally and internationally. The company was founded in 1875 and is renowned for its exceptional quality, customer focus and service.

The company employs a dedicated team which is growing, with a head office and branch in Ashhurst, with branches in Christchurch and in Taupo.

AEC is currently seeking the services of an experienced, dynamic and people-centred Supervising Tradesperson to lead and manage their Taupo production team. Offering a competitive remuneration package, with use of company vehicle and other benefits, this is a busy full-time role, offering 45 hours per week with some weekend and overtime work as workload requires.

**_To be successful in this role, we are looking for:_**
- Previous experience in job management, including ordering of materials and allocation of resources and staff
- Able to read and interpret drawings to provide clear instructions to the team
- Experience in general machining, with a qualification in Mechanical Engineering Level 4 or Engineering Fabrication Level 4 or equivalent
- A minimum of two years fitting/machining, welding and heavy steel fabrication experience and site work
- Experience with Autocad or Solid Works is desired, not essential, however the ability to pick it up quickly is necessary
- Excellent customer service skills, the ability to maintain and build relationships
- Excellent time management with an eye for detail and a keen desire to solve problems, from logistics to technical solutions to ensure customer specifications and expectations are met
- A minimum of two years team management experience
- Extensive knowledge and commitment to health and safety requirements
- A relatable nature, the ability to communicate well at all levels
- Organised, professional and well presented
- A quality focus
- Honest and reliable with an admirable work ethic
