**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
- We are seeking a self-motivated and dynamic radiation oncology medical physicist to join our team of eight physicists, a technician and two registrars. It is an excellent opportunity to take this role in medical physics clinical services and ensure that the centre operates in accordance with the regulatory standards and national best practice. This role will require you to have previous experience in routine Linacs QA, treatment planning system, 4DCT and the use of dosimetry equipment.- Your role will include: quality assurance, treatment plans’ checks, and protocols development for a range of equipment and techniques including IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SABR and SRS. You must be able to maintain high collaboration manner with the Medical Physics team and become highly integrated in our multidisciplinary environment, participating in frequent clinical discussions and attending multidisciplinary team meetings regularly. You will be participating in a number of clinical projects to drive change and increase equity of access to cancer care for Māori.There are a significant opportunities for research and involvement in projects locally and nationally. - The Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in Hamilton, New Zealand. The centre serves a population of 550,000 and has approximately 120 staff. Radiotherapy treatments are delivered using four Varian linear accelerators (3 TrueBeams and a Halcyon), Xstrahl superficial unit, and a comprehensive HDR Brachytherapy programme using BRAVOS system. All TrueBeams are equipped with fully functioning on-board kV and MV imaging capabilities (including triggered imaging, 4D-CBCT and Extended CBCT) and using RGSC motion management with 6DoF couch. Our Halcyon is scheduled for HyperSight upgrade soon with a scope of upgrading to Ethos in a couple of years.- The department uses Varian’s ARIA Oncology information System and Eclipse Treatment Planning System loaded with all advanced features including: 4D planning, smart segmentation and deformable registration, Multi-Criteria optimization, RapidPlan, HyperArc SRT, and Scripting. We use our dedicated wide bore Toshiba CT scanner with 4D imaging capability and starting utilizing Velocity’s capabilities in our workflows. The centre offers a wide range of treatment complexities including TSET and TBI special techniques. We are utilizing the full functionality of Mobius3D including plan, fraction and CBCT checks. There is a great scope for development work supplemented by a wide range of physics QA tools.**Ko o tatou painga | Our Benefits**
