**The purpose of the Role**:
The Senior Designer creates world class functional farming apparel that is acknowledged as leading in innovation, design, function, fit and quality.

The Apparel Designer is responsible for maintaining and pushing the design identity, color, graphics, fit, form, function, construction, and all other technical aesthetic and functional aspects of the products assigned ensuring fit and quality standards are well executed for all assigned styles. In partnership with a team of 5 — the Creative Director, Supply chain manager, and product developers — you create and develop the line from inception of ideas to production of garments. You are an expert in functional fabrics, and have a solid understanding of the fitting process.

**Key tasks**:

- Successfully completes assigned tasks, creates compelling and innovative designs, thinks outside the box, solves problems.
- Builds technical specification packages that represent designs and meet various targets set as per brief from the Design manager.
- Trend/Market Research/Seasonal colour pallette development
- Sourcing and selection of technical fabrics and appropriate materials.
- Researches new materials and technologies for potential use for Betacraft products.
- Creates sketches, mood boards, or other representations of the design as appropriate to support each specific project.
- Design of apparel product range on the computer
- Generates appropriate color options, product graphics, logos.
- Presents designs, prototypes and project status in regular design reviews.
- Making tech packs together with the developer
- Be an active part of the fitting process
- Works closely with the Developer to ensure the selected vendor is building products to the design intent through proto-reviews and fittings.
- Travels domestically and internationally to conduct research, work with vendors, attend trade shows and perform other job-related functions (once or twice a year.)

You are an experienced design leader and innovator who pushes design boundaries. You are a creative person who brings newness and fresh ideas to the brand. You have an enthusiasm for beautiful and functional apparel and design. You have a very good knowledge of designing for function, and an empathy for the end-user. You will excel at presenting your concepts and communicating seasonal direction and design to the design leadership team. You will be responsible for designing and developing new products from product research, conceptualization, prototyping to testing and implementation. You will manage product development processes, fabric sourcing, tech pack generation, and carrying out product launches. You can act as a resource and mentor for junior team members. Your role also includes some managing of suppliers and the relationships with them
