Working on a significant rail project in central Wellington, The Wellington Metro Upgrade Project 6A (WMUP 6A) is a vital component of the New Zealand Upgrade Programme (NZUP) aimed at enhancing safety at Wellington Railway Station and you will be a key part of our construction team. Your role will also involve the management of specific projects, delivering on project requirements, optimizing resource use in order to achieve the following outcomes.

In the role of Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in achieving project targets, being the eyes and ears on site and being responsible for making the work happen. There will be a need to flexible as there will a requirement to work some shifts during block of line works.

To be successful in this role we are looking for the following skills and attributes:

- Demonstrated Rail experience at a senior level with a commitment and track record of achieving HSE outcomes
- The ability to promote an environment that supports Downer's philosophy of health and safety in the workplace
- Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated customer relationship management skills
- Sound project or engineering operations experience, including budget management and detailed knowledge of productivities
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety initiatives
- Track record in managing self-perform, plant and resource management
- Ability to promote excellence in project delivery, safety, quality and productivity
- Proven experience in large project delivery
- Subcontractor management skill
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities
