Our commercial Laboratory has an opportunity for someone to join us in a full time position (based in our Christchurch Laboratory) as an Asbestos Preparation Technician.

**This is a permanent position in a dynamic, challenging and rewarding environment based in our Middleton branch, Christchurch. The role is completely laboratory based **and is involved in the preparation of asbestos samples for analysis.

**Ideal working hours will be 40 hours per week, typically from 10.30am - 7:00pm Monday to Friday, although we are flexible around this**.

**Key focus for the role**
- Conducting lab administration duties to ensure efficient ongoing delivery of a quality analytical service to our clients
- Working closely with the extended team throughout Hill Laboratories
- Supporting our clients’ needs
- Customer Service
- Preparation of air filters for fibre concentration estimates
- Preparation of bulk materials for asbestos presence / absence
- Preparation of soil samples for asbestos presence/absence
- Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Use of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to record asbestos sample preparation data.

**Experience and skills**
- Previous experience in the asbestos industry or have a keen desire to gain experience in asbestos analysis (preferred but not required)
- Customer service & communication skills are essential to the role
