Are you a curious person with strong analytical skills, and an interest in Parliament? We’re looking for two motivated Researchers to join our team for seven months, to help provide impartial and objective information to Members of Parliament and their staff.
**Te Tīma | The Team**:
The Research Services Team within the Parliamentary Corporate Services Group plays a key role in supporting Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, and the public with trusted and impartial research, information, and analysis. Our mission is to ensure that Parliament has the accurate and timely information it needs to make informed decisions.
As part of a collaborative and dedicated team, you will contribute to a culture that values Integrity, Manaakitanga, Accountability, Whanaungatanga, and Empowerment, all while ensuring that the research services provided are aligned with the needs of our customers and the goals of the Parliamentary Service.
**Mō te Tūnga | About the Role**:
As a Researcher | Kairangahau, you will provide high-quality, relevant, and timely research and information across a broad range of topics, helping to inform parliamentary decisions and processes. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver high quality research, analysis and information that meets the needs of our customers.
Some key responsibilities will include:
- Researching and answering a wide range of research requests, contributing to complex and in-depth queries as required.
- Providing written briefings and data-driven reports for Members of Parliament, select committees, and other parliamentary agencies.
- Communicating research findings clearly and effectively, ensuring they are accessible and well-presented.
- Contributing to a strong customer service ethos by working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Supporting outreach and engagement activities to promote research services and resources within Parliament.

- A tertiary qualification.
- A strong customer service ethic, with the ability to respond to a wide range of inquiries in a professional, clear, and timely manner.
- An understanding of the New Zealand parliamentary environment, or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in an accessible and understandable way.
- Strong analytical thinking and research skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider parliamentary community.
- The ability to embrace change and contribute to innovation in research and service delivery.
