**ABOUT US / MŌ MĀTOU**

Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is the national provider of education services to New Zealand’s Deaf and hard of hearing children, working to nurture learning journey and nurturing their social and emotional wellbeing. We assist them to form their own identity, as well as providing support and resources to help them reach their academic potential. You will be joining a nationwide team, motivated to deliver quality HR services, supporting the education and wellbeing our students.

**THE ROLE / TE MAHI**

We prioritize the wellbeing and safety of our employees and we are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Wellbeing and Safety Project Lead. This one year fixed term, fulltime role and reports to our Project Consultant.

As the Wellbeing and Safety Project Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving and implementing initiatives that enhance the overall wellbeing and safety of our employees. This position involves strategic planning, project management and collaboration with various stakeholders to create a workplace that prioritises health, safety and employee satisfaction.

**ABOUT YOU / MŌ KOE**
- Be formally qualified in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in leading wellbeing and safety initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, compliance standards and best practices.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs effectively.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage with employees at all levels.
- Ability to analyse data and draw meaningful insights to inform decision-making.
- Innovative and proactive mindset with the ability to drive positive change.

An affinity or understanding of Deaf culture or NZSL would be beneficial, however, we have systems to assist all staff with communication.
