- This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced, **NZ Registered** **Occupational Therapist** with an interest in working in Adult Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit. This is a **full-time permanent full time position** (40 hours/week) based at **Auckland City Hospital**.
- The main roles and responsibilities will be:

- You will provide Occupational Therapy clinical knowledge and skills relative to AED/CDU assessment and intervention, including early assessment and intervention based on best evidence, and you will work collaboratively within the AED/CDU teams on a day-to-day basis.
- Managing a clinical caseload providing a comprehensive service across the emergency departments (inclusive of AED and CDU), supporting the assessment and treatment of a variety of patients in this setting.
- Working autonomously to support and prioritising caseload using a transdisciplinary model of care, while adhering to the scopes and limitations of professional practise and developing working relationships to support collaborative practise with the wider MDT.
- Work alongside your wider Allied Health colleagues using an interdisciplinary model to deliver high quality and effective services
- On the job training with continuous improvement and development opportunities including a well-established in-service training programme

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

You will join an excellent team of Allied Health practitioners to gain skills and competency in occupation-centred assessment and complex discharge planning:

- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ with a current annual practicing certificate
- 6+ years post qualification experience in a hospital environment as an OT
- Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A pro-active / can-do approach with the ability to be flexible and work autonomously as well as in a team
