**About the Team**
- As an Architecture Director
**you’ll be a member of the Architecture Leadership Team, **guiding and setting Xero up for scaled success. You’ll be supporting the Catalyst Engineering team who are focused on enabling software engineers to build quickly and powerfully on Xero via platforms, dev and ops tooling, practice enablement and growth. The team’s mission is to build a network of innovation for small business on Xero and accelerate change and progress by developing solutions that deliver significant value to Xero’s Customers, Partners and Engineers

**About the Role**
- The Architecture Director is responsible for the overall architectural support and direction of a portfolio of products or technology capabilities. They lead the execution of the architectural backlog that supports the development and evolution of features, decouples components from the existing codebase, and improves developer productivity, performance, security and data stewardship.

**What you’ll do**
- Work with portfolio leadership to develop a clear understanding of their priorities for their portfolio and ensure technical roadmaps support these priorities
- Provide technical leadership support for your architecture team, providing feedback and guidance on significant projects.
- Play an active role in the global architecture team actively contributing to Xero-wide projects and strategies and providing the viewpoint of your portfolio.
- Contribute to technical strategy for your portfolio, working with other technical leaders to ensure proposed solutions are scalable and using best practices.
- Proactively identify and resolve any architectural issues that impact the speed at which the development team can deliver features and encourage architects to do the same in their sphere of influence

- Demonstrated ability to envision large-scale web-based services that meet consumer customer/stakeholder needs or solve business problems.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills. In particular the ability to navigate and manage a wide map of internal stakeholders.
- Business savvy and the ability to bridge worlds across technology and business domains.
- Ability to think strategically and end to end, translating business needs into technical solutions
- The ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
