**Service Coordinator, Kaitaataki - Waitaha**
- Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm
- Whare based role in Woodend.
- Salary $70,500 per annum

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

Reporting to the area manager, in this role you will be leading and supporting your team of kaiawhina who provide the day-to-day care and wellbeing of the tāngata living in the whare. There are numerous aspects to this role including tāngata lifestyle development and support, kaimahi (employee) support, operational management, quality development, leadership and relationship management. Enhancing and fostering tikanga and te reo Māori within the whare and across activities is an important aspect of the role. There may also be times in this role when you will need to roll your sleeves up and provide the day-to-day care to support your kaiawhina.

**Ko wai koe | About You**

Ideally you will bring supervisory experience from within the health care sector. This could be from a community health, disability support service or aged care setting. Experience of working with tāngata who have high and/or complex needs would be advantageous.

You have a strong ability to lead, coach and support a team of people to achieve quality based outcomes in what can be a challenging environment. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential as is the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples’ culture.

Minimum level 4 certificate in Health & Wellbeing or recognised alternative qualification essential. A reasonably good level of physical fitness is required as is a full NZ driver license.
