Cad Designer/ Draughtperson

Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support and optimisation.

As part of Downer’s Water Services & Projects team, we have a National Engineering Services team.

The purpose of this CAD Designer position is to provide modelling and draughting services across the various functional areas of Engineering Services. Your day-to-day activities (as guided by the designated functional and project leads) will be to assist with a range of activities depending on your experience and level of entry may include but not limited to the following:

- Building Information Modelling to aid construction methodology.
- Geographic Information Systems
- Construction drawings including As-Builts
- Programming/scheduling
- Hydraulic models.

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or technical discipline, proven minimum 3 years experience.
- Effective communication skills, written and oral.
- Knowledge and experience in at least one or more of the functional areas (water networks, drainage networks, treatment plants, projects, mechanical) including relevant legislation, standards, and technical specifications relating to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of three water infrastructure.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
- Driver’s License, Class 1 minimum.
