**He angitūtanga: The opportunities - entry level and experienced roles available**
We have full-time and part-time opportunities available for accomplished Animal Trainer-Presenters to join the Animal Experiences Team. We connect visitors with our animals and ignite a passion for wildlife and conservation through free-flight bird displays and up-close encounters.

You will commit to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for animals, staff, and zoo visitors.
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You will have excellent communication skills and experience with public presentations. Your passion for wildlife conservation will inspire the same enthusiasm in our visitors. The nature of this fast-paced high energy role will require you to be adaptable, quick-thinking, motivated and to work well with your team while having fun
- Proven ability in training animals to display natural behaviours using positive reinforcement to enable storytelling of their wild counterparts and habitats. Experience of training birds for free-flight displays would be an advantage.
- Proven aptitude for and enjoyment of public speaking in a range of contexts - from small intimate VIP interactions to public demonstrations with hundreds of zoo-visitors.
- Proven expertise in delivering animal encounters and displays for public audiences
- Active participation in team development through mutual sharing of skills and peer reviews.
- A driver's licence recognised in New Zealand is also essential.
Due to multiple vacancies in the team, we are seeking applicants at all experience levels.
**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer**
The Animal Experiences team is a vital part of our zoo, playing an important part in ensuring visitors to Auckland Zoo not only have a memorable experience, but a connection with animals that leaves them wanting to make a positive impact on our environment and the conservation of species within New Zealand, and around the world.
As part of the Auckland Council whānau, your work will help to enrich the lives of Aucklanders and will directly impact residents and visitors to our city. You will also have access to many partnership benefits and discounts including food and retail, and health services.
