Do you have a passion to develop your horticulture skills and knowledge?

Do you enjoy the outdoors and being part of a passionate team?
We are looking for an active and able, keen and motivated team player to join our Horticulture Team in keeping the district’s parks and gardens beautiful while working towards a nationally recognized qualification. This is a 4-year full-time role where you will spend time working at Pukekura Park, the fernery and throughout the district in our many parks, reserves and walkways. Weekend work will be required while at Pukekura Park.
Tino takohanga Key responsibilities
Complete both internal and external training requirements.
Ensure all health and safety directions/instructions are followed.
Carry out horticultural work as scheduled /directed.
To engage with the public and provide a quality customer service.
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.

Demonstrate a willingness and a passion for taking your next step in a career in horticulture,
Have a high level of self-motivation to keep on track with your study requirements while working fulltime.
Drivers licence for relevant vehicle classes.
General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job.
