**The Opportunity**

Applicants must be NZ registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board (Scope of Practice: Clinical Psychology).
- Do you have a passion for working in mental health working with older persons?
- Would you like to live in a centrally located city with a youthful population and affordable housing?

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with energy and vision for our Healthy Ageing & Rehabilitation Service at Midcentral. This is a 0.8 FTE permanent position of 32 hours a week.

The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary assessment and therapy-based service providing inpatient and outpatient services to older persons with mental health needs with or without co-morbidities or frailty. The position offers the opportunity to provide assessment and therapeutic interventions over a wide scope of clinical practice areas and to further develop the psychology role within the service.

Key tasks for this position will include undertaking psychological and neuropsychological assessments and therapy to develop strategies to maximise the mental health and physical health status of people aged 65 years and older. The focus of the role is to promote recovery as well as supporting families/whanau.
