**About the role**
The Kaiwhakahaere Ako will provide effective leadership and management that inspires our Kaiako to deliver quality educational experiences to tauira and stakeholders. You will work closely with Kairuruku (National Programme Manager) to ensure the curriculum and graduate outcomes are achieved.
The Kaiwhakahaere is responsible for quality programme management and quality programme delivery. This role maintains oversight of kaiako programme delivery, monitoring recruitment of tauira achievement, accuracy of academic records and academic processes and procedures.
**About you**
The ideal person will have a high level of management and teaching experience, be comfortable navigating the ER (Employment Relations) space, and be able to enhance the capabilities of the kaiako that report to you. You will need to have a good understanding of the tertiary sector, programme cycles for the academic year, and the future proofing of higher-level programmes such as monitoring and compliance.
Ideally you will have:
- A Bachelor degree in Education or Management or Commerce;
- Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching L5
- Assessment and moderation standards (4098, 11281, 18203) or NZ Cert in Assessment Practice L4
- At least 5 years’ management experience
- At least 5 years’ delivering quality education
- At least 3 years’ teaching experience
- Able to understand and converse in te reo Māori
- Prepared to support kaimahi to increase knowledge, understanding and everyday use of te reo and āhuatanga Māori
- Provide guidance and leadership for Te Wānanga o Aotearoa values
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
