**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
As specialists in pain management, our team of physicians has undergone advanced training in pain medicine. We offer a wide range of pain care techniques, from medication and therapy to interventions and surgeries.
This is a full-time role for an Anaesthetist with Pain Specialist Physician qualifications. We would also be interested in a non-anaesthetist pain specialist, in consultation with the department.
As a Pain Specialist Physician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with chronic pain conditions.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Your day-to-day tasks will include conducting patient evaluations, developing personalised treatment plans, prescribing medications, performing interventional procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
- This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to empathise with patients, and a commitment to staying updated on the latest advancements in pain management.

**Qualifications**:
- Medical degree and registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Specialty training in pain medicine and appropriate qualifications
- Experience in diagnosing and treating chronic pain conditions
- Knowledge of a wide range of pain care techniques, including medication management, interventional procedures, and rehabilitation therapies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Empathetic and compassionate approach to patient care
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

The Pain Management team is a team of pain specialists, clinical psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and support staff who are working together to help people overcome their pain. We’re passionate and patient-centered. We have a strong team ethic and we push ourselves to provide the best multidisciplinary care.
As a large Tertiary service we are surrounded by other expert specialists whose expertise we can draw upon at any time. These experts include neurosurgeons, neurologists, psychiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, gynecologists, plastic and hand surgeons.
