Our busy and growing water team in Auckland is currently seeking a Senior/Principal Hydraulic Modeller.
You will take a lead role amongst our Network Planning team and work alongside our teams of civil engineers, digital designers, and project managers. Our portfolio includes three-waters modelling, planning and design studies within New Zealand, Australasia, the Americas, Europe including the United Kingdom through our Mott MacDonald’s international modelling community.

Based in our offices in Central Auckland, you will work in an environment that fosters career growth and development and challenges you to achieve more.
You will be responsible for:

- Working directly with our clients in solving their challenges to service the forecasted population growth by offering innovative approaches
- Leading the technical aspects of wastewater modelling and planning studies
- Mentoring the new generation of wastewater network planners
- Being a part of an internationally connected team that actively pushes the development of digital technology in modelling and engineering design
- Contributing to three waters modelling: stormwater, water supply, and wastewater networks, with a focus on the latest innovations
- About you:

- Relevant degree in engineering with specialisation in hydraulics
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in wastewater modelling and network planning
- Capability to check and review work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client
- Excellent client relationship management
- Project Management experience
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Extensive experience of InfoWorks ICM and/or DHI (MIKE URBAN, MIKE +) modelling software.
- Robust experience with GIS platforms
- Ability to be a team player and develop relationships at all levels, including worldwide with our Mott MacDonald offices.
- Interest in developing innovative and digital approaches to modelling, and ability to rapidly learn new technologies. Knowledge of Python is advantageous.
