**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
Health Promotion is most effective when working at the system, environment and policy level alongside communities. Health promotion is interested in providing support to communities that enables them to take action on issues and topics that directly impact on them.
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join the Health Promotion Directorate as a** Programme Lead in the Toi Ora team focusing on alcohol & other drugs. **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).
The primary purpose of the role is to support and coordinate the programme implementation within the Toi Ora Team. You will also be responsible for providing senior oversight for planning, delivering and work across Health Promotion and NPHS to support the development and implementation of agreed health promotion work programmes.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A tertiary qualification, and/or comparable experience working at a leadership level
- 5+ years experience in developing and delivering successful government initiatives
- Proven exceptional team and project management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including provision of written and oral communication across cultures and across a broad sector of organisations and individuals
- Proven financial and risk management experience at a senior level
- Able to manage significant budgets and a proven and demonstrated ability in delivering value for money from suppliers and stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships
