**The Opportunity**

Te Whatu Ora, MidCentral, has a temporary vacancy for a Charge MRI MIT to work in the MRI Department. The Charge MRI MIT is responsible for facilitating, managing and participating in the operation of the MRI department that is open 7 days a week and includes an on call component. This is a 12 month temporary position to cover maternity leave from 15th January 2024.

**If you are qualified MIT with**:

- NZ registration and a current annual practising certificate in MRI
- A high level of motivation
- Desire to work in a quality focused multidisciplinary team;

**Skills and Experience**:

- Demonstrable previous clinical leadership experience
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in MRI
- An expert knowledge of MRI equipment/the environment required
- Previous experience with developing policy or process documents
- Registration as an MRT with MRTB
- Scope of practice in MRI
- Current APC

**Duties include (but are not limited to)**:

- Working on the floor scanning patients - IV Cannulation, Contrast administration, Antispasmodic administration etc.
- Protocol design and improvement
- Rostering - Annual Leave and Sick Leave
- Triaging & Protocoling scan requests
- Managing waitlists & monthly KPI targets
- Outsourcing
- Discussions with referrers
- Liaising with other departments & hospitals
- Consumable Ordering (FPIM)
- Pharmacy Ordering
- QA management
- Service Agreements Upgrades
- Equipment Faults
- Patient Safety & Implant Checking
- Worklist organisation/
- Student Training and Ongoing staff training/CPD Management and
Performance Appraisals
- Attending Staff Meetings, Grade Meetings and Radiologist Meetings
