- April 9, 2024Northland Kindergarten Association is seeking a teacher to join the teaching team at Te Timatatanga o Te Mātauranga Kindergarten, Otangarei, Whangarei. This 20-hour per week position, will have varying daily hours.

Here’s is an opportunity to working amongst a small team committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and up-holding Te Ao Māori and ngā tamariki māori learning success.

If you are a qualified and registered ECE teacher or in your third year of study for an ECE qualification, are skilled in establishing and maintaining authentic and professional relationships with tamatiki, whānau and colleagues, are self-motivated, show initiative and able to work collaboratively, and wish to work amongst a team of dedicated kaiako and staff, we would love to hear from you.

Te Timatatanga o Te Mātauranga has 3.5 teachers, a part-time administrator, and a cook. This kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age.

Te Timatatanga o Te Mātauranga Kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA. The kindergarten is supported by a professional practice and management team. NKA adheres to the employment conditions as offered in the Kindergarten Teacher, Head Teachers, and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2023-2026.

Applicants must hold a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE), current practicing certificate and first aid certificate.
