**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
We are looking for an additional family/whānau advisor to join our exceptional Mental Health & Addictions Lived Experience team. A 0.5 FTE position has become available as a job share arrangement to complement our existing family /whanau advisor.
As whanau/family advisor you will contribute to quality and safety processes and strategic service planning providing a whanau/family focused lens to ensure our Taranaki community have access to a responsive and purposeful Mental Health & Addictions Service.
People’s recovery is enhanced when whānau and family are involved, so it is important to support whānau and family as well as the person directly using services.
Some of the mahi our family advisors are involved in include:
- working with clinical staff to develop services that are inclusive of whānau and family
- support understanding between whānau, family and service
- represent the whānau and family voice at all levels of the organisation and across all services
- assist with projects that have a whānau and family focus and contribute to quality improvements
- liaise with other organisations to keep a broad perspective, reflecting the diversity of people who support someone in our service

**Moū - About you**
We are looking for an excellent communicator who demonstrates a passion for working with people. You will have knowledge and experience of service users challenges along with relevant life experience within Mental Health and Addictions. You will also be familiar with frameworks relevant to Mental Health and Addictions Services.
Having a relevant Tertiary Qualification e.g. Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4 is desirable.
