This is your opportunity to make a genuine difference at a time when our wildlife and wild places need you, now more than ever. You will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Fundraising and Membership team of nine, who deliver Forest & Bird’s fundraising and membership functions, such as regular giving, appeals and acquisition, membership, major gifts, business partnerships and grants.

You will be tasked with translating strategy into operational reality and for growing Forest & Bird’s annual income, through maintaining and increasing donations from individuals, the business community and sponsors.

This is a varied role which will draw on your people leadership, budgeting, and planning skills where a focus on delivering organisational priorities will be critical.

Your networking skills across the organisation and ability to proactively work with managers from other teams who hold responsibility for organisation-wide work, e.g. Conservation, Advocacy and Communications, IT and HR, will also be critical to your success.

You will lead a team of smart, dedicated and passionate employees who are highly engaged in what they do.

**Person profile**:

- Demonstrable capability in managing people, workflow and budgets to maximum effect
- Experience delivering fundraising strategies and implementing business plans for the full fundraising mix
- A confident leader with the ability to drive and encourage performance and best practice
- A connector and collaborator with proven success in building and maintaining exceptional stakeholder relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong track record of performing against financial goals and targets
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Consultative and open style with a ‘no surprises’ approach
