Barber/hairdresser

Barber Shack is looking to hire 4 dedicated barbers to consult with clients and ensure that all their hair-related needs are taken care of. The barbers responsibilities include cutting, trimming, and styling clients hair according to their instructions, as well as billing clients.

You should also be able to provide hairstyle suggestions and haircare advice.

To be successful as a barber, you should be able to provide quality facial hair grooming services to clients. Ultimately, a top-notch barber should keep up with new and emerging hairstyles and trends.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited**
Welcoming clients and consulting with them on their desired hairstyle.
Cutting and trimming hair according to clients &instructions.
Styling hair using styling tools and if required hair products.
Shaving, trimming and shaping clients beards and moustaches.
Ensuring that combs, scissors, razors, and other instruments are clean
Provide hairstyle suggestions to clients.
Ensure workstation is always clean and tidy before and after each client and before you leave at the end of each day.
General cleaning and upkeep of shop (eg: sweep mop floor, wipe/ dust all surfaces etc).

**Requirements**:
Must have NZQF Level 4 qualification or at least three years of relevant experience.
Follow instructions.
The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Be keen and reliable.
Promote yourself (eg: Facebook, Instagram etc).
Clean and tidy attire is a must.
Barber tools must be up to standard.
Be flexible with work might work on weekends.
Have NZ residency, citizenship or valid Work Visa.

Pay rate starts from $29.66 to $32.00 per hour depending on qualification and experience.
Regular work hours are minimum 30 hours per week.
