We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to assist the development and implementation of a rehabilitation programme focused on mental and emotional well-being, along with ‘self-transformation’ development, tailored to the unique needs of the prison inmate population.

This hybrid role can be a part-time or full time contract role, depending on the person, with the possibility of extension based on project outcomes.

**Responsibilities**:
**1:1 Therapy Session**:

- To conduct 1:1 therapy session with students to build rapport and to understand their

unique situations
- Collecting and producing insights to feed into the curriculum.

**Curriculum Development**:

- Help design a comprehensive, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive

curriculum that integrates mental and emotional well-being, essential life

skills, and other relevant topics.
- Develop educational materials, exercises, and resources that are engaging,

evidence-based, and cater to diverse learning needs.

**Project Management**:

- Collaborate with Take2 stakeholders, including correctional staff, cultural

experts, and community organisations, to ensure a culturally responsive

approach.
- Pilot programme Implementation and evaluation:

- Train and support Take2 staff and facilitators in delivering the

curriculum effectively
- Monitor the implementation process, collect feedback from pilot

participants and facilitators, and make necessary adjustments to

improve the programme's effectiveness.
- Work with justice impacted individuals to ensure content is useful and relevant
- Prepare and package the finalised curriculum to be transformed for digital

delivery via the Take2 learning platform, including support and guidance for

the production of video-based material and interactive course content.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure

their input is incorporated into the curriculum design.
- Collaborate with external partners, experts, and organisations to bring best

practices and innovative approaches to the project.

**Education and Experience**:

- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an accredited

institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical psychology, with a focus on

rehabilitation, mental health, or corrections.
- Prior experience in designing and implementing evidence-based learning

programmes is a plus but not necessary.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong understanding of psychological theories, trauma-informed care, and

counselling techniques relevant to prison inmates.
- Knowledge of the unique needs and challenges of the inmate population,

including Indigenous perspectives and multicultural diversity.
- Familiarity with the New Zealand or Australian corrections systems, legal

frameworks, and relevant policies is a plus but not necessary.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and

evaluation of complex programs.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work collaboratively with diverse

stakeholders.
- A self-starter and a lifelong learner

Communication and Leadership:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with

course participants, correctional staff, stakeholders, and experts.
- Leadership qualities to guide and motivate the curriculum development team

and correctional staff.
