You will be a specialist tradesperson who can lead and motivate your crew to carry out construction and repairs within the Transport space on a day-to-day basis. Duties within your team include:

- Planning tasks with the supervisor, and following up to ensure they are completed efficiently and to the required specification and standard
- Ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies, and equipment
- Providing and organising on-the-job development/training for the team and supporting general career development

**Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills**

Along with your civil experience as a Foreperson, you will be organised, as effective planning is crucial to the success of this role. You will also have a proven record of leadership experience as you will need to be a respected leader providing direction and controlling activities whilst also working alongside the team in the field. Other experience we will be looking for are:

- Minimum Class 4 full New Zealand Drivers licence with WTR endorsements
- A proven track record of operating a range of civil machinery to a high standard
- Commitment to safe workplace practices
- Clear communication skills with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders and easily chat with your crew
