NZCL team is looking for part time Support Worker Superstars for our Whānau Support and Supported Living Services. We have various roles and shifts available across the Canterbury region.

**What does a Support Worker do?** **|** **He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko**

You will support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals. This may include working alongside them to keep on top of household management tasks, make and attend appointments and link them with natural resources such as access to healthcare and social services. You may also be a social link to ensure they are connected with their community, and they are living their best lives.

For our Whānau Support services, this is a type of respite for families to have their loved one cared for a few hours, knowing that they will be well supported and safe. The people who use our whānau support services will choose what it is that they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless

- People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience working with youth.
- Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential.
- A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes.
- Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.

**Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.**
