We currently have a rare vacancy in our Grocery team for a Grocery 2nd In Charge/Grocery buyer.

This role reports directly to the Grocery Manager.

To be successful in this role, you need a high degree of self-motivation and excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will also have the desire to excel, the ability to use their initiative, lead, coach and drive with enthusiasm to meet the demands of a busy supermarket environment.

You will be responsible for a range of tasks in the grocery department including negotiations with company representatives, planning and executing display change-overs on a weekly basis, purchasing of stock and managing staff.

This is a full-time, salaried role (5 day working week including a weekend day, 45 hours per week)

**To be considered for this role, you will need to have proven experience in the following areas;**
- Experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with external company representatives.
- Commercial acumen - making smart purchasing decisions.
- Competent with Microsoft excel.
- Good with numbers, negotiations and analytics
- SAP experience beneficial.
- Forklift experience beneficial
- Ability to direct and supervise employees.
- Lead, coach and train new and existing team members.
- Follow and enforce Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Be flexible to assist with other duties as required.
- Good time management - the ability to work within set time-frames.
