**About the role**
LagiOla - Healthy Minds, is expanding as we continue to transform how The Fono provides health and wellbeing services for Pacific families. We are currently recruiting for several Mind Health Practitioners who may be counsellors, HIPs, RN-Psych, DAAPNZ registered, Psychologists, Social Workers, or Occupational Therapists.
These roles engage directly with individuals and their aiga and use talanoa and Pacific approaches to deliver mostly brief psychological/behavioural interventions. This role extends and strengthens The Fono's integrated way of working across services. This role sits within psychology, psychiatry, health coach and navigators, ensuring seamless transition between roles can occur, so family's wellbeing needs can be met. Pacific values, beliefs and practices sit at the heart of what we do, guiding our approach to serving.
We now have additional LagiOla roles available for a suitably qualified people serving our practices across Auckland.
Mind Health Practitioners have the flexibility be full time or part-time. Let us know your preference.
**About you**
This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills and training in a vital area of need. You will be motivated by the opportunity to significantly contribute to improving wellbeing for Pacific people through the delivery of effective distress support, skills, strategies and facilitating access to other services. You will have:
- A current suitable qualification and membership acceptable to The Fono (e.g., Level 7 Bachelor's degree in counselling. / SWRB Registered Social Worker / member New Zealand Association of Counsellors, member DAAPNZ, registered psychologist).
- A deep understanding of Pacific culture and protocols and the ability to engage with individuals and family from a variety of backgrounds in New Zealand and the Pacific.
- A positive ‘can-do' attitude and going the extra mile to meet the wellbeing needs of clients and families.
- Energy to be part of and contribute to the ongoing development of this exciting development at The Fono and other ongoing Pacific community-driven innovations.

- The ability to facilitate changes around scope of needs associated with mental health distress.
- A professional development and training programme to ensure you have the skills, tools, and confidence to be exceptional in the Mind Health Practitioner role.
