**Te āheinga: The opportunity**

You will be working with students enrolled in our Computing and IT programmes. As a Tutorial Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate quality educational outcomes. This role is pivotal in our commitment to providing an enriching learning environment for our students.

Your duties will encompass providing tutorial assistance, marking, supporting school holiday programmes, events and alumni connections, liaising with academic staff to understand the specific learning needs and objectives of our students and support the Programme Coordinator. You will be instrumental in providing learning support to students, tailored to their individual needs and learning styles. This includes both group and individual tuition, ensuring that each student receives the attention they need to thrive.

This role will also enhance alumni connectivity as the TA will continually gather data for future consistency reviews by developing and implementing a system to do this. This will further relieve pressure on the existing teaching team and help meet QA deadlines.

- An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
- Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
- Advanced communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to different learning styles
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience with online teaching platforms and digital learning tools
- Familiarity with current industry trends and developments
- Excellent problem-solving skills to help students overcome academic challenges
