We are looking for someone with basic French Pastry knowledge.
**Job Title**:Pastrycook**
**Location: Auckland Region**
**Employment Type Permanent & Full-time**
**Days required: Monday to Sunday on a roster**
**Hours per week: A minimum of 30 hours a week guaranteed, a maximum of 40 hours a week**
**Wage: 29-31 per hour before tax**
**Number of Vacancies: ONE**
**Key tasks & responsibilities**
Picture this - you're the magician behind the scenes, making sure all our desserts are ready to dazzle our customers. You'll work through the ordering sheets, whipping up delicious treats as quickly as possible. Once the desserts and baking goodies are prepped for the café and delivery, it's onto the next step
l Ensure our kitchen is squeaky clean and ready to go before we start baking. This means making sure all our equipment is spick and span and our premises are in tip-top shape, following all the rules to keep everyone safe and healthy.
l Be our quality control expert by checking the raw materials we use to make sure they're top-notch. You'll also be responsible for weighing ingredients accurately to make sure everything turns out just right.
l Get hands-on with the dough You'll be kneading, shaping, and mixing it to perfection, as well as cutting and molding pastry goods to make them look irresistible.
l Whip up delicious pastry fillings that'll have everyone's taste buds tingling.
l Keep a close eye on the oven temperatures and how our goodies are looking, so they come out just the way they should.
l Take charge of the whole baking process from start to finish. That means forming the dough, loading it into the oven, and making sure everything gets unloaded and cooled properly.
l Put the finishing touches on our treats by glazing buns, decorating cakes with cream and icing, and making everything look picture-perfect.
l Be a pro with our machines You'll be operating them to roll and mold dough and cut biscuits to perfection.
l Keep things tidy by emptying, cleaning, and greasing our baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment so everything stays in top condition.
**To be right for this role and our organization, you need**:
l New Zealand qualification (Level 4 or 5) in Cookery, equivalent or above
l At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification listed above.
l Food safety certificate
l Organization skills
l The ability to follow instructions
l Creativity and effective communication skills.
l Time management skills
l Commitment to teamwork, excellence, and a positive attitude.
l Ability to work competently under pressure, reliability, and flexibility.
l Other tasks across the kitchen as required.
l Budgeting and menu costing skills
