**About the roles**

The Forestry Team will undertake high-profile forestry related work for council and the Tairāwhiti region. The team will deal with the ongoing impacts of forestry debris and slash on the environment, communities, property, and infrastructure. All positions are for a fixed term period of 18 months.

**Team Leader - Forestry**

The Team Leader will be leading the day to day operations for the team as well as to working with internal and external experts to ensure work outputs are fit for purpose.

**Senior Compliance Officer**

The Senior Compliance officer will be providing professional advice and supervision to compliance officers as well as their own compliance case load

**Senior Technical Officer**

The Senior Technical Officer will collect and analyse compliance information being gathered for compliance including enforcement orders. This will specifically include geospatial and land information. Officers may be called upon to provide evidence in Court. An ability to operate a drone will be an advantage.

**Compliance Officer**

**Freshwater Ecologist**

The Freshwater Ecologist will provide professional advice to the Forestry Enforcement Team and play a key role in building evidence to support investigations enforcement orders - you will be required to give expert evidence in court in support of these.
