**Job Title: EHS Advisor, Bio Production, ANZ**

**Reports to: Engineering Manager**

**Location: Penrose, Auckland**

**How will you make an impact?**

You will be responsible for delivering of the environmental health and safety (EHS) system across all Thermo Fisher Scientific LSG BPD Operation Sites in New Zealand as well as the BPD site in Newcastle, Australia. You will ensure the organisation exceeds compliance with relevant Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) legislative and company requirements. This includes delivery of continuous improvement and best practice in EH&S, as well as the promotion of excellence in safety culture and sustainable environmental performance across all sites.

**What will you do?**
- Hands on implementation and maintenance of the EH&S Management System.
- Provide timely reports to the EH&S Committees, business/site leadership teams and management.
- Provide expert advice in relation to risk mitigation and risk reduction.
- Drive corrective action implementation and completion of the New Zealand site’s Hazard and Corrective Action Register.
- Undertake, monitor and review EH&S Audits and Inspections and assess the appropriateness of remedial actions proposed and implemented.
- Implement and maintain required safety processes and ensure personnel are trained and resources are in place to support the organizations.
- Lead improvements to the EH&S culture by partnering with and coaching employees, committees and management to embed and improve EH&S in day to day activities.
- Develop and deliver EH&S training programs to support risk reduction and health and wellbeing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in all areas of EH&S.
- The EH&S Advisor is a professional role which receives direction from regional EHS and operational leadership. the incumbent will consult internally on the implementation of the EH&S policy direction both locally and across ANZ operations.

**How will you get here?**

**Education**
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and or relevant experience.

**Experience**
- A minimum of 3 years working in an EH&S role.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
- A strong team player with proven ability to coordinate activities and influence actions across team and functions where no formal authority exists
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience working independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to implement and maintain auditable EH&S Management Systems.

- A thorough knowledge of New Zealand EH&S legislation.
- Understanding and experience in auditing EH&S Management Systems and their implementation against New Zealand and International Standards.
- Sound understanding of risk management principles and methodology
