Job Title - Senior Residential Estimator

Location - Queenstown

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and submit accurate and detailed estimates for residential construction projects, including new builds and renovations
- Conduct thorough site visits and assessments to evaluate project requirements, taking into account local regulations and building codes
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate interpretation of plans and specifications
- Source and evaluate quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards are met
- Provide expert advice to the project team regarding cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities
- Maintain and update cost databases to enhance the accuracy of future estimates
- Continuously monitor industry trends, market pricing, and material costs to ensure estimates are based on up-to-date information
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and participate in tender negotiations as required
- Review and analyze project budgets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-control measures
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators, sharing best practices and promoting a culture of continuous learning and development

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Residential Estimator, ideally you have worked for building company previously
- Extensive knowledge of residential building materials, construction techniques, and industry standards
- Proven ability to interpret plans, specifications, and engineering reports accurately
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficiency in using estimating software and other relevant tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements in Queenstown and surrounding areas is preferred
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field is advantageous
- Valid driver's license and the willingness to travel to project sites as required
