Senior Laundry Worker

**Safety Responsibilities**:
- Adopting and promoting a safety first workplace culture
- Following safe work procedures, rules and instructions to prevent injuries, harm to yourself, harm to others, harm to equipment and harm to the environment
- Wear task specific personal protective clothing or equipment
- Report any pain or discomfort to your Supervisor early
- Report all incidents, injuries, near misses, hazards and potential hazards to your Supervisor
**Laundry Tasks**:
- count and record inbound soiled linen for stock control
- load soiled linen onto the conveyor for sorting
- assess soiled linen and place damaged linen aside for the supervisor to review
- sort soiled linen into linen bins for processing
- sort and batch kitchen linen, select and input the appropriate wash and dryer programme, oversee and monitor the wash and drying process, unload, sort, fold, batch and store kitchen linen
- move washed sheeting trolleys to the Ironer
- move dried towelling trolleys to the towel folders or towel folding stations
- feed flat linen through the Ironer (Kannigeiser and Electrolux)
- sort, batch and look for quality defects on linen at the back of the ironer
- feed towels through the towel folders
- sort, batch and look for quality defects of towelling
- collection of dirty linen from customers
- deliver clean laundry to customers.
- manually fold towels
- sort customer own goods linen
- load and unload linen to and from vehicles
- store clean linen into appropriate areas
- make up orders of clean linen ready for despatch (count and bundle finished linen into batches and linen bags / cages / trolleys)
- accurately record clean linen orders to ensure correct invoicing
**General Responsibilities**
- Keep walkways clean and free from obstacles
- Keep your work area clean and tidy at all times, particularly at the end of the shift
- Be clean, tidy and hygienic
- Ensure customer contact is handled in a professional, courteous and friendly manner, whether it be directly or on the phone
- work with and assist other staff members to develop a co-operative and friendly work environment for the benefit of all employees
- any other duties in the day-to-day laundry operation which may be required from time to time to keep the laundry functioning efficiently
**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time
**Salary**: $25.00 - $29.66 per hour
