**About the position**

This retainer-based position has been designed as a supplement to a current AA Driving Instructor Franchise and to engage with the AA Driving School's Lower North Island Driving Instructors with the purpose of assisting them with their technical training, financial or administration related queries.

Leading and facilitating Lower North Island Driver Instructor meetings, either online or in-person, as well as offering mentoring support, responding to complaints, auditing, offering advice. Additionally, managing the communication flows between the AA Driving School Licence Support Office and the Lower North Island Driver Instructor Network will also be part of the remit of this position.

**Requirements**:

- People skills, at ease working in a collaborative team environment
- Team leadership skills/experience/confidence and ability to influence change of behaviours
- A high level of personal motivation to succeed
- A passion for driver training and road safety
- Experience (2+ years) as a Driving Instructor to both private and corporate clients
- Experience in or a willingness to learn the mentoring and auditing processes for Driving Instructors
- Intermediate MS Office skills; comfort with new/changing technology
- Working knowledge of the New Zealand Road Code
- A current, full and clean, Class 1 (Driver) endorsement
- Hold a current "I" endorsement for class 1 (for 2+ years)
- Unit Standards 14522 (processes which lead to enhanced driver/driver rider self-management) and 17975 (plan, conduct, and review interactive group learning for trainee drivers/driver riders) or equivalent
- Be familiar with IAM's Road Craft principles
- Preference given to holders of the National Certificate in Adult Education (or similar)
- Commercial nous
- Sound financial administration and record keeping skills
