**Te kāinga rua | The opportunity**
A unique opportunity to join Aotearoa’s largest planning practice in a broad leadership role as a Technical Director. You will be joining one of our tight knit regional teams known and respected for high-quality planning advice, across all aspects of the profession including the upcoming reform agenda. You will be part of a team that is proud of their work as trusted advisors on community shaping projects across the region and around Aotearoa New Zealand, with roles available in our Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington or Christchurch offices.
In this role, you will have exposure to a diverse range of national, regional and local clients looking to deliver transformative projects for our communities. This includes working with our portfolio of national planning clients including key government agencies and infrastructure providers building on our current client relationships with a focus on the future, all while working with colleagues and specialist across multiple disciplines.
As the Technical Director - Planning, you'll be working at a local, regional and national level to help influence and shape our strategic direction. You'll be a key leader and mentor within the broader Planning, Communications and Engagement team of approximately 120 people. Our roles are broad and have the flexibility to be shaped around your career objectives and how they align with our client and business requirements. Our roles have scope for you to provide and manage the provision of quality technical planning advice across the country, lead projects, continue to build client relationships, as well as help to develop others through coaching and mentoring.
You will have plenty of scope for success and to make a difference in this leadership role. As well as having exposure to complex planning and related projects, you will also have the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, work in a nationwide practice, as well as having influence and the remit to contribute to the future direction of the planning and engagement business with your peers and practice leaders.
In this role you will be part of a team of experts, working closely with our Community Shaping team which includes environmental and sustainability advisors, transport specialists, landscape architects and urban designers delivering projects for clients and the wider business, including in areas like spatial planning and climate change resilience and adaptation.
