Sportsground Operator

Napier City Council is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as Sportsground Operator. If you are passionate about sports and enjoy working outdoors, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and preparation of our sports surfaces in the Napier City Council area.

As a Sportsground Operator, you will play a crucial role assisting with scheduled events within other city areas when required. High standards of preparation and maintenance across a range of sporting codes are expected. You be involved in the preparation of sports turf surfaces to national standards and to carry out day to day presentation and maintenance of sportsgrounds assigned to the responsibility of the job-holder.

This is a full-time permanent position, you will be working 42.5 hours per week. Generally, between the hours of 7am-4pm Monday - Friday, with the flexibility to work weekends as required for events.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Carry out duties within all sportsgrounds to a high standard, as directed.
- Carry out mowing operations within all sportsgrounds, as directed.
- Assist with grounds marking, small motorised plant, handmowing, sportfields mowers, tractors and implements, watering and any other preparation, maintenance or development of sportsgrounds.
- Agricultural spraying.
- Preparation of cricket wickets under supervision.
- Contribute to the ongoing pro

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Current full drivers licence with ability to drive manual vehicles
- Current Growsafe Agrichemical Certificate
- Knowledge and willingness of sports through experience of Cricket, Rugby and Football
- An eye for detail and able to maintain a high standard of finished work.
- Preferably have Drivers Licence. with Class, 2, 4, W, T, R
