Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Endocrinology Department, part of Specialist Outpatient Services within the Adult Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate, is a friendly, patient centred environment. Our passion for what we do is evident in the volume of patients we treat and the job fulfilment we get in knowing we are making a difference. We are a dynamic team of highly skilled nurses who are always ready to lend a helping hand to those who need it most.
In this role, you will be working with both adult and paediatric patients. Clinical experience in IV cannulation and phlebotomy is important and further education will be provided related to specialist endocrine testing. The role also includes provision of infusions within the Endocrine Department for other speciality patients. There will also be the requirement to attend interventional radiology procedures for the collection of specimens on the Auckland City Hospital site.
We have a 0.6FTE permanent opportunity available for someone who is open to expanding their skills in the area of endocrinology. All our nurses are included in the continuing medical education within the department and are encouraged to develop their own interests and expertise within endocrinology.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
- Registered with the NZ Nursing Council with a current annual practicing certificate.
- A registered nurse with at least 2 years of experience working in general nursing.
- Previous endocrinology nursing experience will be beneficial but not essential
- Critical thinking ability and solid commitment to building strong relationships with patients and colleagues from all backgrounds is important.
