Lifeguard Coordinator

Ocean Spa has a vacancy for a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Lifeguard Coordinator. As the Lifeguard Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the safety and well-being of our guests and staff around the pool and other water facilities.

As Lifeguard Coordinator, you will be responsible for day-to-day shift operations and activities through the active supervision and co-ordination of Pool Lifeguards and aquatic activities, ensuring high standards of safety, communication and service are maintained at all times.

**Your main responsibilities will include**:

- Supervising the activities of pool users to ensure they are safe and appropriate
- Responding to emergencies
- Ensuring legislative requirements and all operational policies and procedures are met
- Participating in the performance management process for lifeguards within the team.
- Carry out basic water-testing and plant monitoring, and maintain relevant documentation
- Contribute to centre improvement and change initiatives and improvements as required

**To be successful in this role you will have the following skills**:

- Senior Pool Lifeguard Level 3 or equivalent
- PLPC lifeguard qualifications (unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402)
- Current First Aid certificate
- Ability to lead, motivate and provide direction to your team
- Interpersonal communication and relationship management skills essential
- Able to deal with conflict situations and difficult people and negotiate solutions
