**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role**:
The role of the Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science involves teaching courses in the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science, particularly in Sports Management and Strength & Conditioning. This position requires curriculum development, student support, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality education and practical learning experiences.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $60,000 and $85,000 FTE, dependent on skills and experience.
The **Lecturer - Sport and Exercise** is based in our School of Sport and Exercise | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Head of School and will be responsible for:
- **Curriculum Development**: Prepare and update curriculum, develop course materials, and contribute to new course creation.
- **Student Learning**: Define learning objectives, facilitate diverse learning experiences, and provide practical learning opportunities.
- **Assessment and Evaluation**: Conduct reliable student assessments, provide feedback, and participate in moderation activities.
- **Research and Professional Development**: Plan and conduct research relevant to local industry needs and engage in ongoing professional development.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- **Educational Background**: Bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science or a related area, with a current First Aid certificate and full NZ Driver’s License.
- **Experience**: Recent experience in sports management and strength & conditioning, with teaching experience at the tertiary level.
- **Skills**: Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and leadership skills, along with good organizational and administrative abilities.
- **Cultural Competence**: Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues, including Māori language and culture, with a commitment to creating a culturally sensitive environment.
